Set of five cute hand knitted farm animal finger puppets. Ideal for story telling with children, or simply use as decorations around the house!
Each set includes a Cat, Piggy, Dog, Donkey and Sheep and are made from recycled wools such as alpaca wool and lamb's wool.
As they are handmade the characters' faces may vary slightly.
The story behind these puppets
These woven toys come from Puno, a city at the top of the Andes Mountains in Peru. The locals used the leftovers of materials used for the woven garments they sold to make the puppets. On the very cold nights they told their children the same stories they had heard from their own parents but now the characters could be seen and touched! As they were so appreciated they started to make a larger variety of characters and sell them to neighbours and eventually began to send them to markets in Lima.
